After releasing the two singles Miracle and About You this year, the Electroswing community is hoping for a new album. And also the two following long players Panic (2012) and (2015) bring irrepressible creativity and build on the success of the first record. Shortly thereafter, Caravan Palace is completed with four other musicians on vocals, trombone, clarinet and saxophone.Ģ008 follows with Caravan Palace the debut album of the same name and catapulted the band directly into the top 20 of the French album charts. Since all three musically dealt closely with swing and electronic music, the symbiosis of both areas was a logical consequence. Arnaud Vial (guitar), Charles Delaporte (bass) and Hugues Payen (violin) already knew each other from other projects and joined forces to create the soundtrack for this film. The trigger for this musical union was a rather atypical request from a film production company that was searching for suitable music for an old censored erotic silent film. The French combine the swing with modern melodies, club-sound-elements and driving beats. The band has set itself the task to polish up the swing of the 30s and 40s and give it a futuristic glam.
Since 2006, Caravan Palace has stood for a unique blend of swing, electro, hip-hop and dub.
In the coming year, the band will pack their instruments and come to Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin and Munich for four concerts in February 2020.
